This past summer I had the honor of photographing Julianne & Kyle’s engagement photos. Luckily for me, I work with Julianne’s cousin at my second career as a stylist (which I am equally as passionate about) and I was able to arrange it so that J+K agreed to my vision and J even went and purchased a dress from Modcloth (one of my all time fave resources for photo garb) specifically for this session. I’d been wanting to do a carnival engagement session for quite some time, but just needed to find the couple who were fun enough to do it. Julianne & Kyle fit the bill perfectly, and considering we spent the whole time eating delicious fair food, playing on rides and laughing like loons when I had the bright idea to go on the Music Express to “get some photos.” Word to the wise…it isn’t the ride to capture photos. When my chiropractor asks about the “rogue trauma to my neck,” this ride very well may be the culprit. Seriously. No bueno. If your chiropractor is free…well then, by all means.
Anyway…when I saw Julianne she took my breath away. Gorgeous with a capital G and she pulls off the 50’s vintage look perfectly. The fact that Kyle is totally smitten with her just seals the deal. Add to the fact that I am not afraid to approach random strangers with out there requests (hey, can I borrow your car?? like, right now?) And this shoot was one of my favorites this past summer. Yes, I approached a random stranger and asked if we could use his car right there on the spot. To my surprise, he said yes…buffed and shined it for us a bit and then drove it a mile away to my specified location so that a couple he did not know and had never met before, could cozy up in his back seat and snuggle for a while. Real life.
If I was afraid of people, this would not be the career for me. 🙂 Thanks for being here, thanks for reading. I appreciate each and every one of you.
